HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS:
This 6-week program is designed to help you establish a routine of regular activity and healthy eating by providing weekly goals, nutrition information, and keeping you motivated with fun, prizes and camaraderie.
An additional feature of this year’s challenge will be the team division. Families, co-workers, friends, etc, are encouraged to form teams of 2-4 people. The goal of the team will be to encourage all members to complete their miles in order for all of the other team members to receive their weekly prizes.
All participants must preregister between January 4 -11. Registration cost will be $20 and we will be limiting participants to thefirst 25 to sign up.
The marathon will begin January 21 and conclude at our Spring Health Fair - March 4. During this time, individual and team competitors will receive prizes for 6 different mile markers on their way to completing all 26.2 miles. All marathon finishers will receive a t-shirt.Our kick-off will be January 15th at 12:00pm. Our 5-star Dietary Department will be catering a spaghetti meal while marathoners learn about exciting new research in healthy eating from our Registered Dietitian, Sandra Burwell.

IMPORTANT: Always consult with your physician before starting an exercise program. Remember to stop exercise and disclose any abnormal symptoms you may be experiencing such as joint pain, irregular heart rhythm, tightness or pressure in your chest, shortness of breath, light headedness, dizziness and the like. It is also important that you adhere to the recommendations by your physician regarding physical exercise especially with regard to the choice and intensity of exercises you perform. You should not exercise when you are injured, sick or are not otherwise feeling well. If you are under 18 years of age, please consult with your parent or guardian before beginning this program.
